About Philippines
The Philippines is a large group of islands with approx. 100 million people of whom many are poor. The country has excellent beaches, great water adventures and magnificent rice fields. English is widely spoken. Unfortunately it is also struck by Typhoons regularly and is battling Islamic extremist in the Southern provinces (e.g. Mindanao ~ dangerous). Christianity is truly celebrated here.

Taiwan considers itself to be a democratic, independent country, while China sees Taiwan as a Chinese province. This has been and still is a dispute with lots of conflict potential, but it is safe to travel here.
