Hawaii is one of the smallest states in the USA and far away from the mainland. Volcanoes and nature are beautiful here. Hawaii is also the origin of big wave surfing and the Iron Man (triathlon).

About Alaska
Alaska, by far the largest state of the USA, is a significant natural oasis with lots of nature (lakes, mountains, glaciers) and wildlife (grizzly bear, moose, wolf and birds of prey). You may feel lonely here, sometimes in the middle of nowhere, but you are never alone.

The historic city and port of Lahaina in West-Maui was destroyed by forest fires in August 2023.
